This fall's crop of must-read fiction includes some of the most highly-anticipated releases in years. In fact, we're so excited about some of the new titles, we've already started setting aside weekends in the calendar to do nothing but pour ourselves a little hot apple cider, throw on a cashmere sweater, and cozy up with the latest releases from our favorite authors.
This season sees everything from the triumphant returns of reclusive legends like Thomas Pynchon and Donna Tartt to incredible new stories from Nobel and Pulitzer Prize-winners Jhumpara Lahiri and J.M. Coetzee. The fall also brings us hotly-anticipated new works from popular favorites such as Jonathan Lethem, Marissa Pesshl, Elizabeth Gilbert, Wally Lamb, Margaret Atwood, Norman Rush, and Dave Eggers. Not to mention the latest novel by Helen Fielding about everyone's favorite hopeful but hapless heroine, Bridget Jones.
While there's a little something for everyone, here are our picks for our favorite fall reads:
The Bleeding Edge (Thomas Pynchon)
Night Film (Marisha Pessl)
Lowland (Jhumpa Lahiri)
Goldfinch (Donna Tartt)
